An exposed-aggregate surface is obtained by placing concrete and then removing the outer 'skin' of cement paste to uncover decorative coarse aggregate (either batched into the concrete mix or seeded onto the surface).

Instead of exposing the aggregate in the concrete (like in exposed aggregate paving) with honed concrete paving we do a grinding process, which creates a smooth exposed aggregate finish with the most interesting effects, especially when viewed from close. This unique grinding process is commonly referred to as a “honed concrete finish” or a “polished concrete finish”.
